TimeGate can connect in real time to a range of Biometric devices. The fingerscan solution is linked via a fixed line or GPRS connection to the TimeGate database and data is passed back to the database in real time or upon regular automated polling.
Key business benefits:
- Real time T&A monitoring via link to TimeGate
- 100% verifiable using fingerscan to prove staff attendance
- Large volumes of T&A data captured at low cost
- Simple implementation with low training requirement for staff
- Unit has "memory" so that T&A data is not lost if communication fails
How it works - TimeGate in action
Biometric solutions are particularly effective in situations where larger numbers of staff operate from a single location - typically more than 20 staff.
Each staff member has a record a fingerprint ID held within the biometric scan unit. The fingerscan units are wall mounted and powered using a standard wall socket. Attendance data collected on the fingerprint unit is sent to the TimeGate platform using a modem or a GSM mobile phone modem.
Enrolling staff on the fingerprint unit is quick and simple. The unit scans the employee’s fingerprint and converts the image into a number which is stored on the unit. This is referred to as the user’s template. To clock in or out the employee enters their unique PIN and simply places their finger on the unit.
The finger is scanned and compared with the template already stored on the unit to irrefutably verify the correct operative has clocked in or out.
The unit is stand-alone and does not need to be connected to a PC to operate. Moreover, with the GPRS/GSM modem it can be positioned almost anywhere.
