There’s a Clear Message from Davos, and it Matters to You
The pace of change is accelerating, and only the best teams will keep up
“As the pace of change continues to accelerate … it’s time to rethink assumptions about how organizations from all sectors serve their customers. It’s time to prepare for a very different future.”
Those aren’t our words, but the considered opinion of Carmine Di Sibio, Managing Partner (and soon to be Global Chairman and CEO) at Ernst & Young, addressing the World Economic Forum last week in Davos. This was a recurring theme at this year's event, which was attended by the world’s most influential and insightful leaders.
Robert Muggah, Co-founder of Igarape Institute and SecDev Group, and Ian Goldin, Professor of Globalisation and Development at the University of Oxford, told the gathering:
“The accelerated pace of change is making it virtually impossible to plan ahead. The speed of transformation, and its effects on markets, firms and labour, is astonishing. The pace and scale of technological change make it virtually impossible to forecast what kinds of threats are on the near-horizon, much less how to deal with them.”
Di Sibio added a key point:
“For businesses to evolve, they will need to move from just protecting what they have today, to creating the organization they need to become. Value will be created where industries intersect.”
That last bit – “value will be created where industries intersect” – is increasingly important, because as the pace of change accelerates, it becomes harder to achieve success on our own; we win in today’s market by being part of the most competitive supply chain we can construct.
This is as true in support services as in any other business, where margins are tight and competition is fierce. At Innovise, we believe that our relationship with you – the intersection of our two businesses – is where we add value to your supply chain, and we are committed to being an essential part of your team.
It's our job to provide you with the best that technology has to offer, so you stay ahead of your rivals and give your clients the outstanding service they demand. We do this by continuously innovating, driving that accelerating pace of change for your benefit, rather than being a victim of it.
Just consider our Timegate product, which has recently added two unique and disruptive new features:
Service Delivery: This suite of tools enables you to equip your entire workforce with everything they need to represent you well, from incident management to forms and patrolling tools;
Insights: Provides you with easy-to-use, easy-to-implement Business Intelligence (BI) tools to harness the power of your data, whether using just Timegate as your source, or supplementing it with third-party data.
This is something not seen before in the industry. Not long ago it wouldn’t have been possible at any price; now you can’t afford to be without it. That’s progress. That’s innovation.
It comes from the sort of approach that Di Sibio was talking about – rethinking our assumptions about how organizations serve their customers.
The world is changing, and it would be foolish to ignore that fact. To borrow a line from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, addressing last years’s Davos meeting: “The pace of change has never been this fast, yet it will never be this slow again.” That’s what we mean by ‘acceleration’.
And it leaves us with a stark choice: Keep up or give up; innovate or die.
Talk to Innovise now and we’ll keep you ahead of the pack.
